Robert “Bob” O. Whitenburg, 88, of Ottawa Lake, MI, died Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, with his daughter by his side. Born October 8, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of John and Elsie (Striggow) Whitenburg. He married Patricia Hart on October 7, 1950. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2011. Bob was a truck driver for the former Murphy Motor in Toledo for over 30 years. He enjoyed working in his yard, a love for horses and had an infectious smile.
Bob is survived by his children, Stephen and Carol (Jim) Gibbs; grandchildren, Kelly (Alex), Amanda, Taylor, Dylan and Stephenie (Brian); great-grandchildren, Ava, Gage, Landen, Mollie and Matthew; brothers, Eugene Whitenburg, Clifford (Peggy) Whitenburg, sister, Leota Gunn and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Whitenburg; brothers, Art, Paul and Franklin Whitenburg and Sisters, Gladys Giese and Marilyn Burkholder.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
